Final preparations and adjustements

The last week we have spent in Mönchengladbach at Kevin’s parents and enjoyed a couple of BBQ nights. Early March and 16 degrees, clearly time to “Angrillen”. And we had the time to prepare for our trip. Several test rides along the river Niers, ordering half the internet, adjusting our bikes, and today we have finally booked our tickets!

Our adventure will start on March 19th; we will fly to Istabul and start cycling there. We decided for Turkey, as the country is open for tourism and no quarantine is required. Also, wild camping is allowed, so we won’t be completely reliant on camp grounds or hotels. So now we are in the final stages of our preparations: getting health insurance, organizing a PCR test, finding boxes for our bike and telling the Arbeitsamt that we will most definitely not be available for jobs in the next few months. In a couple of days we will cycle across the border to visit Julia’s family, which will also be the dress rehearsal for our bike and bag set-up. So, next stop: Drunen!
